Intel's Devil's Canyon CPU overclocked to a 4.6GHz boost easily supports the Titan-Z's demands, but I have to admit I was most impressed with the pair of Crucial M550 SSDs in RAID acting as the primary OS drive.

Personally, I've become enamored with this form factor and am quickly becoming uninterested in the huge, hot towers. Save a grand by running two Titan Blacks in SLI, or even throw a third Titan Black into the mix for roughly the same cost as a single Titan-Z.īut if you want to work and game at 4K with an attractive and unobtrusive tower small enough to sit on your desk and be dwarfed by your monitor, the Tiki-Z is the perfect solution. If you're after extreme performance and size isn't a limitation or personal preference, by all means look into Falcon's Mach V or any larger tower. That being said, the Tiki-Z is designed for a very specific consumer and the company knows this. With a card that has no business being in a case this tiny. And while I won't publish the exact clock speeds and settings (doing so would give Nvidia, Falcon, and Silverstone support reps all heart attacks), I will say that I achieved a stable and staggering 29% performance increase in real-world gaming scenarios. I did my own overclocking well above Falcon Northwest's levels. (Idling, the system emits a barely perceptible hum, and while it increases significantly under load, it's far from being a distraction.) And the increase in fan noise is nominal. Taking the card's base operating temperature from 83 Celsius to 85 Celsius in EVGA Precision results in almost a 100MHz lift to the card's boost clock (about 960MHz). Thanks in part to the new laser-cut window (which comes in green-tinted glass or smoke-tinted acrylic) and a host of other tweaks, not only does the Tiki-Z comfortably accommodate the Titan-Z, but it stays cool enough to be overclocked.
